Currently Speaking is 1.666… years old, which is the ideal time to plan a celebratory event. We’re hosting energy-themed trivia, in person, in Melbourne, in October.
Come from 6:30 pm, have a chat, enjoy some food, and we’ll kick off trivia at 7:30 pm. We’ll keep the trivia short and sharp, so we can mingle some more after trivia is done.
Event details
When?
Wednesday, 23 October. Doors open at 6:30 pm, trivia kicks off at 7:30 pm.
The timing aligns with the All Energy conference being hosted at the Exhibition and Convention centre, and it’s after the “Grand Networking Event” on the Wednesday evening, so if you’re attending the conference, enjoy a free beer from a solar panel inverter manufacturer,1 and wander across the river to the State of Grace hotel and keep the buzz going.
Where?
Fall from Grace cellar bar, State of Grace (link) (27 King St, Melbourne CBD).
What can I expect?
Mingling with other energy nerds (aka “networking”).
An energy-themed trivia that is both brain-tickling difficult and stupefyingly silly.
Prizes. Prizes? Prizes!
We’ll put on bar food (pizzas, chips, et al.), with drinks available for purchase at bar prices.
All net revenue will be donated to the First Nations Clean Energy Network.
Tickets
Tickets are $25/person.
Organise your own team,2 or we’ll help assign teams on the night.
Tickets are strictly limited, so don’t wait for that grid connection!

P.S. If you won’t be in Melbourne then, we’re sorry. We’d love to do this in other cities, so drop us a comment below with the city of your preference and we’ll see what we can organise in the future!
Questions? Something obvious we definitely forgot to mention? Drop a comment below or send us a message.
Team numbers will depend on final attendance numbers, but call it max 10? Probably smaller.
From a solar panel inverter manufacturer as in, “paid for by the marketing slush fund of a solar panel inverter manufacturer”, as distinct from “a beer actually produced by a solar panel inverter manufacturer” which seems like a weird and unlikely vertical.
Hey Alex and Declan, sounds like a great idea for Brisbane!
Lots of keen energy nerds in Sydney
